So, do you have big plans for the weekend yet? If your Sunday is still open, check out the 350.org 10/10/10 Global Work Party to see if there are any events in your area. There are 10/10/10 events planned worldwide that range from group bike rides to trash clean ups and tree plantings. Santa Fe is home to a Skill-Share event and a long bike ride to join the Albuquerque event. This weekend Santa Fe is also the home to a regional (NM, TX, AZ and CO) Green Building Summit & Expo.
350.org is an international campaign to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis - like a global day of action. The goal of the 10/10/10 Global Work Party is not to solve the climate crisis one project at a time, but to send a pointed political message: if we can get to work, you can get to work too - on the legislation and the treaties that will make all our work easier in the long run. This is an important message to send to our public servants and its tied to a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and do good work in your community. To quote John F. Kennedy, 'There are risks and costs to action. But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.'
What: S.Fe Green Building Summit & Expo
When: October 8 - 10, 2010
- Expo: Saturday 10am-5pm & Sunday 10am-4pm
- Summit: Friday, Saturday (Students) & Sunday (General Public and Professionals) 9am-4pm

Cost: the Expo is FREE TO THE PUBLIC - Saturday & Sunday
- the Summit is $10 for all day (pay at the door), $50 for Continuing Education Credits
The Santa Fe Green Building Summit & Expo provides a view of the latest in green building technologies and meet regional experts in solar, geothermal, hybrid a/c, doors, windows, insulation, water systems, efficient appliances, landscaping, building science & energy consultants. High School students, professionals and the general public can learn about more sustainable building science, design and practices at the weekend summit.
